At Cannon Steels our steel beams for loft conversions are the ideal choice for a conversion or loft extension. We fabricate all steelwork in our workshops and we are able to manufacture steel for all loft conversion builds, from standard slice and box frame steel to cranked frame and double beam connections.

Cannon Steels are therefore able to produce and deliver the complete steel frame for your new loft rooms, on time and millimetre-perfect.

All steel is fabricated to your exact requirements. Our in-house draftsmen use Autocad and Tekla computer based drawing systems which include 3D modelling to design and produce your exact steel specification. We can also work closely with your architect and builder to ensure the delivery and installation is as smooth as possible.

We deliver your steel to your site using our own fleet of specialist lorries, each of which is equipped with on-board crane facilities. We also have the added option of extended crane vehicles in our fleet, with the capacity of lifting steelwork up to 15 metres high.

WHAT SIZE STEEL BEAMS DO I NEED FOR A LOFT CONVERSION?

In most loft conversions, steel beams are used to take the extra load of the build. Beams are typically installed to run from side to side of a property to the other, such as from one party wall to another.

The positioning of the beams in the loft conversion is vital and your architect or structural engineer will ensure that the plans for the build provide the maximum load bearing support from the steel beams.

Sizes and the quantity of the steel  beams you will need for a loft conversion will depend on the design of the conversion, the type of beam you use and how many beams you require.

In most builds, a certain range of steels will be recommended in the architectural design. We hold many standard steel beams as stock items.

HOW MUCH DOES A STEEL BEAM COST?

Pricing of your loft conversion steel beams will depend on the size and the design of your proposed loft conversion.
